Welcome to Christ Catholic Church.
We are a sacramental, ecumenical, and Christ-centered expression of the one, holy, catholic, and apostolic Church. Rooted in the historic Christian faith and nourished by the ancient sacramental life of the Church, we seek above all else to follow Jesus Christ as He is revealed in the Holy Scriptures and proclaimed in the Gospel.
We are called Christ Catholic because we believe Christ must always remain at the center of our faith, our worship, our theology, and our life together.
Before we are Roman Catholic or Old Catholic, Orthodox or Anglican, Celtic or Independent, we are called to belong to Christ.
This does not diminish the gifts of the ancient Christian traditions. We gladly receive the wisdom of the saints, the sacraments, the ecumenical councils, the monastic witness, the liturgical heritage of the Church, and the rich tapestry of Christian history. We recognize ourselves as part of the great catholic tradition that stretches through the centuries.
Yet every tradition must ultimately be measured by the One who gave it life. Christ is the source. Christ is the center. Christ is the measure.
For us, the name “Christ Catholic Church” is more than a historical title inherited from those who came before us. It is a confession of faith. It reminds us that the Church belongs first and always to Jesus Christ. Every doctrine, every canon, every ministry, every act of worship, and every work of mercy must ultimately point beyond itself to Him.
Our purpose is not to build another denomination. The world already has enough divisions. Our calling is to build communities where Christ is encountered through Word and Sacrament, where mercy triumphs over judgment, where prayer becomes service, and where ordinary people are invited to walk together in the way of the Gospel.
The Province of the Prince of Peace serves as the historic See and administrative center of Christ Catholic Church. Through its ministry, the Church seeks to establish sacramental communities wherever people hunger for authentic Christian fellowship, thoughtful theology, reverent worship, and compassionate service.
The spiritual heart of Christ Catholic Church is the Sacramental Community of the Coworkers of Christ. Every member of the clergy belongs to this Community, sharing a common Rule of Life rooted in prayer, contemplation, service, formation, and the Cure of Souls. The Coworkers exist not as a separate institution, but as the living spiritual community that nourishes the Church’s clergy and supports its mission in the world.
Together, Christ Catholic Church and the Coworkers of Christ seek to proclaim a generous orthodoxy: a faith deeply rooted in the historic Christian tradition while always remembering that mercy stands at the heart of the Gospel. We believe worship must become service, theology must become compassion, and the Eucharist must shape the way we see every human being as bearing the image of God.
We believe the Church exists not for itself but for the sake of the world God so loves. That is why we seek to build small sacramental communities for the unchurched, the spiritually homeless, those wounded by religion, and all who long for a deeper encounter with Christ. We believe the Church is strongest not when it seeks power, but when it offers sanctuary.
Our symbol has long been an image known simply as “The Back of Christ”. It portrays Jesus not facing us, but walking ahead of us. It reminds us that Christianity is not merely about believing in Christ. It is about following Him. He goes before us and our task is simply to walk in His footsteps.
Whether you come from another Christian tradition, have been away from the Church for many years, carry wounds from past experiences, or are simply searching for a community where Christ remains at the center, we welcome you.
Come and pray. Come and ask questions. Come and find rest. Come and follow the Prince of Peace with us.
Jesus cares. Christ is the center. The Gospel is the way.
